North on Bay Street

A wonderful sunny day on Bay street. Southward is the CN Tower. Take a walk north though and you'll run directly into the provincial parliament buildings which house the Ontario provinical legislature (lower left with the clock tower). The Ontario Liberal Party was recently elected to govern the province of Ontario.

Not all the streets in the financial district are decked with sky scrapers, in fact many contain smaller, older buildings with 4 to 10 stories.

Toronto's civic limit on building size was lifted back in the 60's which lead to the boom in tower development.

Some of the older buildings have been well maintained. Many like the Hudson's Bay store are a big part of Toronto's heritage.
