What
Visitors See
Research
shows that viewer’s eyeballs go right to the copy when they
see a new Web page. Not the graphics --- the copy. Search engine
writing just happens to ensure that the specific words visitors
have used to search are present in the page heading, hyperlinks
and in the body copy. Right away, your visitor knows this page is
meant for them. They can now relax and invest some of their valuable
time in drilling down into your site. This magnifies the possibility
of them becoming a new and continuing loyal customer.
Whether
you just want to promote your cause or persuade consumers of the
technical value of your products, top rankings in the search engine
can make your voice and opinions powerful. You can become very influential
when so many people read what you have to say. There may be more
knowledgeable people and better products available somewhere else.
No one knows about them – only about you and your products.
Searching:
What or Who will be Found?
It’s
not easy for searchers these days. There are billions of documents
and millions of Web sites all competing for the same eyeballs. The
chance that any one particular document is going to be found and
read by a person seeking it is extremely small. Lotteries may actually
provide better odds. Would you be interested in a formula that could
ensure you were always one of the big lotto winners? I think you
probably are because you’re still reading.
How
do you make pages findable? You give searchers what they’re
looking for. If a Web site visitor is looking for new automobiles,
zero percent financing, those five words should be proudly displayed
not only for the customer, but for the search engine indexing machine
as well. The human sees right away that the site is relevant. The
search engine indexing program also ranks it as right on topic --
what they call high relevancy.
