The CN Tower
was built in 1976 and regularly hosts over 2 million visitors each year. Several
high speed elevators whisk tourists to the observation levels and restaurants
in the sky deck. The restaurant level slowly turns and gives diners a full 360
degree view of Toronto. There is a nighclub at that level as well.
In 1998, developers
undertook a $26 million entertainment and retail expansion and the building now
offers more to do. There is a new glass floor on the observation level providing
an extra thrill for tower-goers. The young visitor below seems to have no fear
1100 feet up!
For those who can't
get enough of heights, there is another short elevator ride up 300 feet higher
to the sky pod. Here where only the intrepid go at almost 1500 feet, you can see
right into the Skydome where major professional sports teams play.
Communications antennas
on the CN Tower offer superior broadcasting clarity and distance for Toronto television
and radio stations among other business users. The tower was built for practical
reasons.
You'll be amazed at
what you'll see in Toronto. And it's not always cold. In fact, during 2005 there
were 30 days of plus 30C or 90F hot weather. This winter has been very mild.
