Two recent studies conducted by research companies have discovered that qualified customer acquisition is the top goal of businesses today. That's the goal of any worthy SEO Company.

One study by the Chief Marketing Officer Council and the Business Performance Management Forum, called "Gauging the Cost of What's Lost," interviewed online survey responses from 722 chief decision makers at U.S. companies. A hefty 66% of these CEO's and CFO's cited customer acquisition as critical to the growth of their business, and almost 44% expressed dissatisfaction with how their company generates new business. Only 5% said they were satisfied with their customer acquisition success.

Another new study by B2B magazine named "Marketing Priorities and Plans", found customer acquisition was most important to 28% of marketers, and driving sales was close behind at 27%. Last year, 28% of the executives polled cited driving sales as most important. This could show that there aren't enough customers to go around and the push is on to be more competitive in the marketplace and to explore new customer acquisition mediums.

These studies also discovered that many businesses had no formal process for customer acquisition and that the relationship between marketing and sales was not satisfactory. Poor sales conversion was cited as the result of this disunion.  It was suggested that marketing departments didn't have a clear call to action in their advertising.
