There's
not much room at Wellington and Bay St. At the lower left is the famous Royal
York Hotel that has seen 40 millions guests since it was built in 1929. It set
the standard for hospitality in Toronto with it's theatre, golf course and 1,000
elegant rooms. In 1993, it was refurbished for $100 million.
The black buildings
next to it are the Toronto Dominion Bank office towers built in the 1960's and
were formerly the most imposing office complex in downtown Toronto. The tall thin
gold coloured building next to the right is the Royal Bank Plaza, a beautiful
building that can seemingly change colour depending on the light present. It is
coated with 2,500 ounces of the gold which helps to moderate the temperature inside,
all year round. Next to that is the Toronto Dominion tower at BCE place.
