One local Ontario golf course is the Orr Lake Golf Club located on the shore of Orr Lake Ontario, Canada. The course located about 90 miles north of Toronto has a picturesque location, but it is still too far off the beaten track for the majority of Ontario's active golfers. What's worse, is that few people know about the course because there are so many others crowding the attention of golfers.

Tourism in the area was down significantly because of SARS and other bad publicity for Ontario tourism. Despite these problems, the Web site generated some good business. The site has numerous high rankings.

A small investment and a minimal sized Web site worked wonders for the golf club putting them on the map and with a smile back on the face of the owner.

Orr Lake Golf Club had some strengths in the fact that the club's green fees were half or a third of most other Ontario courses. The course has a unique terrain and a variety of fairways and greens which makes it a better golfing experience. The view of the lake is great and the terrain is rolling, unlike the flat monotonous plains of other golf courses. Orr Lake golf course has character. That character and its market strengths become the core of the Web site content. In this case, optimization is straight forward and uncluttered. This site can easily be developed for better search engine referal results. Right now, they're content with what they've got.

Larger golf clubs with larger courses and more clubhouse facilities, and services with closer access to major cities will gain much more of course. They can draw major revenue for weddings, receptions, banquets, business conventions which bring further awareness of the golf club and its memberships.
