A reduction in PageRank
doesn't necessarily mean that your site has been penalized. It could mean Google
just couldn't keep track of everything and lost some of your inbound links. Spamming
penalties could come from a variety of sources, and may be due to your site linking
to what Google considers a "bad apple."
Sometimes,
penalties are permanent, such as when Google won't give you credit
for your links page or Google has caught your site involved in
deceptive cloaking or link farm participation. These practices
hurt Google's quality, something they take seriously.
Many
times clients are simply unaware that their webmaster or SEO is
spamming, but without the necessary skills and resources, that
person is almost forced to do something unethical, especially
after a guarantee of performance.
A productive
relationship begins with respect. If you are ready to abandon
spam tactics and have the confidence to create a permanent and
valuable presence in the search engine indexes, then we will work
to repair the damage. We've already done this for a couple of
former spammers. Since then, their sites have slowly climbed to
the top.
This
renewal of their confidence in their business ethics has changed
their perception of ethics and they
now see ethical search engine optimization as their first choice.
